My alma-mater, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, published this great, detailed description of how to create an online teaching portfolio. It gives specific directions for how to create and curate an online teaching portfolio using Google Drive and Google Sites. This site really helped me get a good vision of what an online portfolio can really be.
To kick things off, I thought I would share this article from the NEA about digital portfolios. I quickly assembled a “portfolio” before last year’s hiring season, but would definitely like to put some more work into it before the spring. What has been your experience with creating a digital portfolio? Does anyone have an example they really love? How and when in the application process do you distribute your portfolio?
